We cruise up 169 to Woodstock where we have lunch in the Stoggy Hollow General Store, another piece of Americana.

Part 2 --Across the top

Part 2 of the trip takes us Connecticut’s northern tier. The roads are a little less scenic here but more challenging. We go by Bradley International Airport, cross the Connecticut river. wind around several state forests, down to the Barkhamsted Reservoir for a photo-op and beyond.

Part 3 -- Headin’ back SouthThe final leg of the trip takes around the town of Torrington through some twisty roads and down to Danbury, where we end the trip with dinner. Danbury is about 90 minutes from NYC and 2 or so hours from Boston, which makes the trip back home an easy jaunt.
