The "London Eye" (aka the Millennium Wheel) is a giant Ferris wheel on the shores of the Thames River in central London.



In construction basically a huge bicycle wheel with capsules on the outside, which rotate to stay level:



The view from the top is impressive, you get a sense of how big London actually is:

Before we went we were told that you had to get tickets a week in advance, but that wasn't true (at least it wasn't true on the first Wednesday of Wimbeldon), in the picture below, you can see that the line is quite short, we had purchased tickets one day in advance, but could have gotten them same day on Wednesday
